Department of Medicine for the Elderly (DoME) System

The DoME system covers a wide range of visits and treatment within the department, together with letter, summary and reporting requirements.

The Patient Details module includes auto GP lookup and diary for all types of contact. Other modules cover Inpatient, Outpatient, Day Clinic and Domiciliary Visits and Referrals as well as Waiting Lists. There are also modules for Parkinsons / Movement Disorder, Echocardiography and DFOM/Bartel analysis, with various assessments such as UPDRS (1-3), PDQ (8 and 39), MMSE etc.

Output consists of letters for all visits, reports, analysis and Coppish SMR00, 01 and 50 with single or batch printing.

This system shows the flexibility and growth possibilities of a database as modules are added and reshaped over time and the scope of a department’s activities changes. Currently on version 4 after approx 10 years in operation.

The Falls Clinic is about to be expanded but it already has additional modules for Physiotherapists and OTs.
